Editing- Main Image

The very first thing I have done before I have even started my editing, is set my page to the correct measurements. To do this I clicked new- I then I clicked on the drop down menu saying present and chose the option international paper. This instantly changed the rest of the menu and enabled me to click size A4 as my magazine size.

Now that I have my main image, I am going to cut it down to the right size by using the, "Rectangular marquee tool" Now that I have the exact main image I am going to use for my main image I am going to remove any blemishes using the " spot healing tool brush" :

Once I had gotten rid of all my models unwanted blemishes I started to focus on how i could enhance certain features. I decided that I wanted my models mouth to be a lighter shade of pink, as it would make her further emphasise her smile. To do this I simply chose what pink I needed from the colour palet. I then clicked on the "brush tool" then at the top of the window I changed the "opacity" to (17%) and changed my brush to a more managable size- ( 17%) finally I clicked on the brush icon in the left hand corner and chose from the drop down menu the option ( Airbrush soft round 50% flow) Then all I needed to do was carefully paint over my models lips.

Although I think the increased colour on the lips emphasise my models smile I think that the whitening of her teeth will really make her smile jump of the page. Therefore in order to whiten my models teeth I used the same technique as I did with her lips, only this time I lowered the "opacity" even more because I didn't want to lose the shape of her teeth.

Now that I have finished editing my model, I have decided that I want to get rid of the arm she has over her head, as I just think it looks unatural. However because I will be keeping the background I am going to have to brighten the image and lower the saturation until the background is the same colour as the space my eraser will leave. So to do this I will first select my eraser and carefully get rid of my models arm. The then I will go to the top menu and select> Image> adjustments> brightness/contrast. Then I simply hired the brightenss and lowered the contrast. I did this until the background was able to blend in with the space my eraser had made. Laura
