Photoshoot- Main Image

The first photoshoot I did was for my magazines main image. As I have previously said I wanted my main image to show the actress of the show grade A rather than the character. However I still wanted my actress to still portray a a sweet and innocent nature to the reader. I wanted my model to be seen as a role model. Therefore I decided to dress her in a white dress as it suggests a sweetness to the reader, I also dressed her in a denim jacket as I felt it contrasted really well with her hair and dress, finallay I had her wear black school girl socks, as they are extremely in at the moment and would not only make my readers aspire to be this fashionable, sweet young teenager, but would also ensure that I was reaching all of the audiences I was targeting; including the male audience.

This was the first image I considered for my main image. What I really like about this particular shot is the forward tilt of my models upper body. As I think such a position makes my models clothes look more interesting. I also really like the direct eye contact my model has with the camera. However I have decided against using this particular shot as the postion of my models arms makes it appear as though she doesn't have any and would therefore would look strange when I come to resize the photograph.
The next shot I considered using for my main image was this one. What I really liked about this particular shot is my models care free stance. Her arms are up in the air and it looks like she is having fun. I really like this idea of portraying my model as young, care free and fun. However I have decided against this particular shot because once again my models stance means her wrists and hands are cut off, which would mean my front cover would look strange.

This shot is the final shot I have decided to use as my main image. I have chosen this particular shot for two reasons the first is that I think the side profile she gives makes the shot look professional and commercial. The second is that although she us turned sideways her face is still looking directly at the camera, as are her eyes which means she will appear as if she is looking directly at my target audience. However, although I do want this to be my shot, i'm not sure whether her arm being up will make my shot look strange. So i have decided I will see what I think when I begin to edit, if need be I can always use the magic eraser to get rid of just that bit of her arm.
