Fonts

The first font I needed to find was for my main title GRADE A. Therefore I needed to find a font that could be used in all three of the coursework features. The two font myself and my group decided we liked were both called Varsity, however they were both completely different. This was the first Varsity font we were thinking of using:

What my group and I liked about this font, is the stereotypical connitations it has of a school. Imparticularly cheerleeding. However I personally didn't like the way the fonts outline reduced the shape of the font. However the second font my group and I looked at follows the same format as this font only it's outline goes around the entire letter:
I personally think this font is extremely effective, as it's enboldened lettering and white outline, makes the title of our drama really eye catching and distinctive. Now that we have decided what our main overall font should be for our series I have started to look at ideas for fonts I could use as my headings and subheadings on my magazine cover.

1. The first font I looked at was: What I particularly liked about this font was the cartoon appearence of the font. I have said from the beginning that my aim for my front cover was to make is as fun and as accessible to my target audience as possible. However I have decided that although I like this font, it is slightly to similar to a font already well known and therefore I didn't want to confuse my readers.

2. The next font I looked at was called: What I thought was really effective about this particular font is it's uniqueness. I really liked the comic book appearence it gives the font, as I think with the right colours it could look really dramatic and eyecatching. However as my subheadings are going to be small I have decided that the words around the font would be lost and instead would just make the font look cluttered.

3. The next font I have decided to look at is called:
what I liked about this font was the simplicity of it. I also liked how close together the letters have been placed as I just think it is quite unique and interesting to look at. However as with the Que Fonita font when I made this font the size my subheadings were going to be I found that the bold outline makes the font difficult to read.

4. The final font I looked at was:

What I really love about this font is it is clearly still a fun and interesting font, yet at the same time it maintains it's sohpistication and uniqueness. I also love the fact that because the font is simple there is so many things I can do to it using, stroke and glows etc that will make it look completely different, yet it will be the same font.

For example here for the text saying "Rosie" I have kept the font exactly the way it was originaly. However for the "exclusive interview" I have used first of all changed the colour of my font to purple and I have then used the effects tool to add a black stroke to the font. I personally think that by just making that one adjustment the two pieces of texts look like completely different fonts.
