The first thing my group and I decided before we even started to create our pieces of coursework was what our target audience would be for our main product, as it would heavily influence the content of all three of our pieces. After much discussion we decided that our target audience would be between the ages of 12-16. We picked these ages because we wanted our drama to be stimulating and entertaining and something we ourselves could relate to.
Therefore after much discussion my group and I decided to set our opening sequence in a high school. Thereby making our audience young teenagers. For the magazine cover my group and I all decided that similar to the DVD cover, our audience would already be fans of the TV show.
Therefore it was important for the GRADE A magazine to be recognisable to our target audience. To do this I decided that:
1. the main picture on the magazine should be of the main character, however as I decided that to make the magazine more interesting, I would have the actress of the main character of ROSIE on the cover rather than her character.
2. I also thought that it was equally important to include all of the other characters including the character of Rosie on the magazine, as it would not only make the cover more interesting but it would add varity.
3. I have also decided to use the same font for the GRADE A title that, Verity has used on the DVD cover as I think it will make the cover recognisable as belonging to the TV series. So far those three things are my starting point, I am now going to do some research and have a detailed look at what other televsion magazine use as their conventions.
