Research: 3 Minute Wonder - Surf Rescue

This documentary looks at the world of surfing, specifically the creation and recycling of surfboards. Graphics, interviews and footage are used to illustrate the point that it's documenting. Have a watch:

The above production has some good and bad points that we've discussed below:

- With it's basic editing, it looks relatively homemade when compared with other Channel 4 documentaries.
- The ComicSans font on the graphics adds to the low-production values.

+ It wasn't homemade - it was produced for Channel 4 and it's easy-going production enhances the topic and subject.
+ The music works really well and has connotations that relates to surfing.
+ The documentary has a clear beginning, middle and end.
+ It's an interesting idea for a documentary - the key to success.
+ The montage is again used to start the documentary, and it still works well. We'll definitely be looking at how we could do something similar.
